- Rivers are essential for life, supporting civilizations and ecosystems. The Ganges, a vital river in India, faces severe pollution from industrial waste and sewage. To address this, the Indian government launched the Namami Gange initiative, focusing on sewage treatment, riverfront development, and public awareness. Similarly, Egypt's Nile River suffers from pollution due to agricultural runoff and industrial waste. The government has responded with stricter regulations, improved waste management, and clean-up campaigns. Other countries have also taken steps to protect their rivers. For example, the United States implemented the Clean Water Act to regulate pollutants, while Germany restored the Rhine River through international cooperation and strict pollution control. Such efforts reflect a shared global commitment to preserving rivers for future generations. Nile river is generally recognized as the longest, the Amazon is the largest river by volume of water. Let’s see the efforts to clean river Nile from Egypt.
